Happy birthday, Jana, Lindsay, and Sarah! I spent ages looking for the perfect photo and never found it…. but I did find this instead! WTF was I thinking, I honestly don’t remember doing this.

So sorry about that. But happy birthday, girls! Hope you had/have wonderful days.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

Is-a my unda-wears showing?
Apparently the best place to dry my underwear is as close as possible to the main pedestrian walkway.

As I wandered around Singapore in a post-food poisoning semi-delirium, this sign struck me as very hilarious.
“Man this is crazy. You are dancing with the entire McPoyle Family.  But you’re keeping your cool. You know why? Because you are the Green Man. Green Man is saving your life right now, bro.”

These are the curtains in my bedroom.

Happy Birthday, Emma! Do you remember enjoying this delicious (lie) picada with me? I should probably have also included a photo of an abandoned boat. They were so awesome, you were obsessed with them.

Emma and I went to Tigre to explore, and spent the entire day sitting by the river drinking beer. It was great.

Hope you have a lovely day. Un beso!

Happy birthday, Jess!

(Next time I see you, we should probably take some decent/sober pictures)

Ewwwww….

You guys, I crushed a gecko with my head. Eeeeewwwwwww. He was hanging out under my PILLOW and when I put my head down, I crushed him. I had no idea until later when I found a mangled gecko body on my bed. SO GROSS!

Also, an office update! They have decided to kill the rats, so there are now sometimes dead rat bodies laying around the office.

I FEEL LIKE I’M ON SURVIVOR OR SOMETHING.

My New Place of Business

My new office is (unintentionally) hilarious. It’s perfectly adequate, especially for here, but there are a few oddities that amuse me greatly:

  • The power goes out almost every day.
  • The building was struck by lightening recently and now the internet doesn’t work.
  • The roof leaks when it rains (which is almost every day). During a huge rainstorm the other day, it was like someone was spraying the office with a hose.
  • There’s a rat that lives in the staff lounge. I often see its tail poking out from behind boxes.
  • The bathroom is… wet. I don’t even know what else to say about it. The floor is always a huge puddle and there is water dripping down the walls. Always, even on days with no rain. I have no idea why it is like that
  • Ants have been slowly moving an enormous dead cockroach across the floor. It is taking days. Everyone is leaving them undisturbed to do their work.

I like it.
